The Carlon E987NR is a surface-mounted PVC junction box designed to allow multiple conduits to be connected and wire splices made within a protected enclosure. Manufactured from PVC thermoplastic molding compound, this box offers the corrosion resistance and durability needed for both indoor and outdoor electrical installations, including direct burial applications where protection from moisture, dirt, and physical damage is essential.

This junction box solves the challenge of safely housing electrical connections in demanding environments. The gasketed lid with stainless steel screws provides a seal against water intrusion during normal use and hose-directed water exposure. Use this box for indoor wiring, outdoor conduit runs, or in mixed environments where you need reliable protection for electrical connections.

Features and Benefits

  • PVC Thermoplastic Construction: Provides corrosion resistance, making the box suitable for both buried and exposed installations.
  • Gasketed Lid with Stainless Steel Screws: Seals connections against moisture, dirt, and falling water while resisting rust and corrosion.
  • Surface Mounting Design: Allows flexible conduit connections; appropriate holes must be cut, and male adapters or box adapters secure conduit to the enclosure.
  • Direct Burial Ready: Rated for direct burial and designed to handle prolonged submersion at limited depths and external ice formation.
  • Indoor and Outdoor Rated: Provides a degree of protection against contact with enclosed equipment, falling dirt, and hose-directed water in mixed environments.
  • UL Listed, NEMA 6P: Meets UL standards and NEMA 6P rating per section 314.29 for electrical safety and environmental protection.
